Lumbamed Sacro

The Lumbamed sacro is a brace which stabilises the pelvis with pads. This product is to be used exclusively for orthopaedic treatment of the lumbar region and the pelvis and is only intended for use on unbroken skin.

Mode of action

Lumbamed sacro achieves stabilisation and stress relief of the pelvis and iliosacral joint via its compressive knitted fabric. The fastening straps enable the brace’s pressure to be adjusted to the
individual’s requirements, relieve stress on affected structures and contribute to pain relief. The pads massage painful areas in the sacroiliac joint region and support the pressure distribution brought about by the fastening straps. 

The brace’s effects are most noticeable during movement of the body. In principle, this brace can be worn for the whole day. The length of time that the brace is worn should, however, be based upon the individual’s own requirements and the way that their body feels.
The brace should be removed for long sedentary periods (i.e. if you are sitting down for a long time, driving or sleeping). If you experience excessive pain or your condition worsens whilst wearing the brace, stop wearing the product immediately and contact your doctor or the medical supply store. 
The brace can also be worn in water. Please wash this product thoroughly with clear water and observe the instructions for care.

• Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
• Sacroiliac joint arthritis
• Sacroiliac joint arthritis
• Sacroiliac joint instability
• Muscle pain and tendon disease in the pelvic region
• Pelvic ring instability
• Structural issues following lumbar spinal fusion
• Where locking of the sacroiliac joint is
  recurrent
• For recurring muscle and tendon disease (rectus abdominis muscle, piriformis muscle)
• Rupture and relaxation of the pubic symphysis

Contraindications

The secondary effects on the entire body are currently unknown. However, if the supports are too tight, i.e. the bands, it can cause local pressure sores or constriction of blood vessels or nerves in
rare cases. Therefore you should consult the doctor treating you before you use it if the following circumstances apply to you:

• Disease or injury to the skin in the area that the brace is used on, particularly when signs of infection (excessive
  heat, swelling or redness) are apparent.

Combining the brace with other products may be indicated, however, this must be approved by the doctor treating you.

Care instructions

The pads should be removed before washing. If necessary, the pads can be cleaned with a dampened cloth. Please fasten all velcro fastenings before washing. We recommend that you use a laundry bag. Fats, oils, lotions and balms can damage the material and impair the Clima Comfort effect. Soap residue can lead to inflammation of the skin and deterioration of the material.

• Wash the product by hand, preferably using a medi clean detergent, or in delicate cycle at 30°C using a mild detergent without fabric conditioners.
• Do not bleach.
• Leave to dry naturally.
• Do not iron.
